2020/2021 EFC Membership options

Well, it's been 2 weeks since I got an email from the Club saying there were all these options for Membership upgrades, free jumpers etc etc etc. And further information coming in the next week. And I've heard nothing since. Just now I've gone looking and found these details - https://www.essendonfc...

Re: Gill(igan)'s Island

So the AFL is considering taking all 18 teams and a reduced coaching and support staff to an Island to play a reduced season.... Alternately putting 3 "Clusters" of 6 teams into remote areas of Australia to do likewise... f*** me dead. Times are tough but I'd prefer the dollars and resources that t...

Best 22 2021

Hahaha, not a "best EFC team 2021", but "Best changes to society in 2021" following COVID-19 disruption. Since most discussion is around the virus, I thought it would be interesting to hear what us lot think of potential societal outcomes. If you will...let's think of the positives to come from the ...

Re: Daniher

Some sliding scale may be appropriate, otherwise watch the "millionaires" tag being trotted out very soon. I haven't read the details of the eventual agreement on player salaries, but the limited info I have seen is that it was a flat rate agreed. If true, I am very disappointed. To think Rookies o...

Re: Corona

I'm on the "less hysterical" side of the Coronavirus discussion, but it's a fair bit more serious than you've suggested. The infection rate is somewhere between 30 - 70% of the population (from memory). The death rate for elderly, and people with other complications is something like 15%. Left ramp...

Re: Lachlan Johnson - pick 63.

I`m thinking that Lachy might be the only player at the club that doesn`t really give a f*** that the season looks like it could be over  What do you mean? Is he a slacker? I thought he was keen as mustard :? He's recovering from a knee injury - wouldn't have played this year anyway.

Re: Votes v Fremental

Hurley was responsible for 4 opposition goals and coughed the ball up with predictable bombs to no one in particular Zaharakis has no weapon. His pace has gone, he applies no pressure, doesn’t do anything creative But that is our acting Captain you are talking about!!! What shat me most was the stu...

Re: Closed doors footy?

It was very strange watching last night. What I would like to see while we can't attend is the option to watch the games from any camera angle. The option of muting the commentary would also be a brilliant feature. There are rumours that Kayo will drop their monthly subscription cost from $25 to $2...

Re: Delay the telecast and finish the season

Apparently NRL had considered something along those lines ........"housing" under quarantine conditions, every team at a (disused??) mining facility near Gladstone QLD, and playing every game at Gladstone. Doubt it would really work in either case. Now that we have States closing borders, and non-es...

Re: COVID 19 Arrangements

Don't think I've ever had less interest in a footy season at this stage of the year. Mostly, I think, because I doubt that even if it does actually start, that it'll be any sort of proper season. Even if it begins, it's a matter of time before it's suspended due to a positive test from a player, so ...

My first memory of Gavin was from EON-FM.
History is scant, but pretty sure he was there in '79 when they started. May have been on AM radio at 3XY and 3AK as well before that.

Re: A Tip to those on changing Australia Day Date

Do you think the Monarchists will see it that way, mate? There’s no danger the current Government would contemplate straight out changing the Date in a Million Years.Whereas,Labor and the Greens probably would. They’d still have to put it to the Test at the Ballot Box.At a general Election. Who do yo...

Brayden Ham listed as our best hope for players under 21. Shit!

Best hope. For what? To shock our list management into a realisation that scrawny 5'8" just won't cut it?

Ummm, no, sorry.....there's little relationship between the two.
Australia Day is a simple political decision - the date has been changed several times.
It is not a constitutional issue.

Re: Cameron and Viney

Jeremy and Jack are both restricted free agents at the end of the year and both would slot nicely into our best 22 Whether or not Daniher makes it and stays at Essendon is beside the point. We should be targeting both the above mentioned players to plug glaring holes in our list. Key forward and bu...
