Although unlikely, Ed Langdon would be a great pick up...seems Melbourne is the front runner

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill

Club about to announce that Woosha will coach next year as a handover to Rutten (taking on more senior duties). Succession plan in place 🔒 Joe Dan more likely GONE 🚽 why does daniher want to leave? Trying to listen between the airwaves and reading between the lines, it appears Joe isn’t happy with ...

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill

Plus he is out of contract end of 2020 so GWS may see trading him now as better leverage than what it would be next year if he decides to walk

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill

Frankly I am indifferent re Joe. We will land 2 draft picks in the top 10 and free up 750K in the salary cap for a juicy Free Agent in the long run we will be better for it on the other hand if we keep him and he has a stellar career...that's ok too JD is on 666K We will lose on this deal big time....

Re: OFFICIAL: Rutten to Coach 2021

I am in favour of this as the cleanest solution.

Perhaps Rutten at what, 35 yrs, is the new Sheedy...young and ready to prove himself

I wonder if Cara thought he was a chance?

Re: OFFICIAL: Rutten to Coach 2021

For this to work you would hope that Game plan adjustments to suit Rutten's vision start immediately. No point in going through 2020 playing Worsfolds game plan only to have it dismantled and started again when Rutten takes over. If this isn't the case we may have 2 outcomes, either 2020 is another ...

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill

I was going to say, if it was Langford having that coffee in a busy Puckle St cafe I would be very surprised. He would never have been able to make his way through heavy traffic.

Re: Begley

Tough audience...kid has just come off a knee reco and has barely played a dozen games. I get the feeling but let's at least give him a chance. Couldn't be worse than Langord and Laverde who have each been given 5 seasons to show something Hasn’t got it. Yeah but then if you compare his first 3 gam...

Re: Open Letter to John Worsfold

It's probably inevitable that if you stick around long enough as coach things will begin to click. The system, in theory at least, is designed to give all teams an equal chance at building success. Of course there are exceptions to this theory and you do occasionally see coaches have immediate succe...

Re: Hypothetically, would you be happy with...

There is risk whichever way we go but do remember, when Joe and Raz had their fantastic years in 2017, we finished 8th! Sure we have bolstered the mid field since with Shiel, Smith and up forward with Stringer so perhaps a full season with all of them playing fit may be the difference. But what if i...

Re: Hypothetically, would you be happy with...

Imagine if we had the following draft picks for this year's National Draft 4, 8, 9 and 11 We could potentially build a team with genuine long term talent. Let's be honest, we simply do not have the cattle to be a top 4 threat in the immediate short term. My point with this post is we need to be aggr...

Re: Hypothetically, would you be happy with...

I think we should be reluctant to trade Daniher because we've invested a lot in his development and have nought to show for it. Big forwards like him dont grow on trees. Nothing less that 2 first round picks and a ready to go player who is quality will suffice. Alternatively we should demand Papley...

has exactly the mongrel our mids lack. But does he have the smarts to become a quality mid. Would toss Fantasia in for him and their second rounder

Re: Changes next year

To be fair, i dont think Heppell has been a bad captain at all. He has grown into the role. I cant see any changes there. I would rather they groom McGrath for the role in a couple of years. We are stuck with Woosha as well, but hopefully a fresh coaching panel with Cara along with an improved high ...
