Thought he was very good again. Plays a similar way to Jobe. He’ll be even better next season. Very pleased with his progress. Surely you will concede on this one Mr Lenin?
He did 3/5’s of f*** all.
Was his poorest game for awhile.

Amazing coincidence you rediscovered this thread after it.
It was near the top of the list when I logged in, no coincidence.

I’m yet to see him do anything when the whips are really cracking. Jury still out.
Like sand through the hour glass, so are the days at the Essendon Football Club.

Credit where it’s due.
He had a good patch with consistent game time and showed improvement.
Is here there yet, no. Still a ways to go, but signs are finally looking better.
Can’t crucify him for 1 quiet game after a good patch...

Hopefully you didn’t watch the game through the bottom of a beer glass again. Time to put your biases aside and accept that Langers is finally arriving. He is learning his craft (who’d ever think that’s possible for a 21 year old? ).

I suspect you were around in 2006 when Jobe was 21 saying “too slow”, “can’t kick”, “delist / trade” etc???

So he’s played about 4 good games.

He went missing last week when the pressure was on, yet played a decent game against a team that that is f*****? Give me a ****** spell.

He’s improving, good on him. But spare me this shit about him “arriving”. He’s got a long way to go.

9, wow, I nearly fell off my chair. That’s less than a quarter of games played.

9 good games? Better sign him up to a 9 year deal like Buddy..

Yeah, I know, players are supposed to come into their careers from game 1 and play good footy all the time. I think history is on my side when most of them start playing with more consistency around the 50 game mark. He is starting to do that, so I say “he’s arriving”.

It’s not like he’s had the one role to play in the team either. Initially it was as a forward, then a part time tagger, now more as a midfield extractor. So he’s learning a new craft and doing it well. So perhaps spare me he’s a “shittruck” label...

I’m not saying he’s a shittruck. Just questioning the hysteria of people thinking he’s the second coming of Jobe.

I'd call him a utility. Not the Toyota Hilux type, more like a Great Wall or Proton.

A.K.A "a shittruck"

Hmmm, okaaay. They are your words.

And it’s hardly hysterical to suggest that he “plays a bit like Jobe” or that “he’s arriving” as a player. You could form an argument that being hysterical is overreacting to such comments by saying “let’s give him 9 year Buddy deal” or saying that “people think he’s the 2nd coming of Jobe”.

Nothing wrong in acknowledging that he is having his best season, and that he is improving.

Coming from someone that said he has similar attributes to Blake Caracella? What’s that, he can get out of bed like Caracella can? Caracella was silk. Fumbles Langford couldn’t carry his jockstrap.

And yeah, the Buddy deal call was in jest.

Good pair of hands who can drift forward, find space, and kick goals.

Fumbles? You confusing him with Trav??

I think you suffer from paranoia as well as hysteria. Just because someone compares a feature of a certain player, doesn’t mean they are that player...

Oh I get it! You've got the wrong player.

Langford is number 4 Gimps, not sure who you've been watching that fumbles.

Of course there's no comparison in talent right now, though Languid hasn't developed fully yet.
But "silk"..... my memory doesn't recall silk, especially in relation to the team of the time. Carecella and Languid do share some facial and body features and the same cruisy, understated running style at times. He was no clanger King but don't tell me that once or twice back then, you didn't have your heart in your mouth when Carra got the ball at a crucial moment?

Re: Caracella, I don't know how often it happened, but I seem to remember Brereton bleating on about how Caracella was the man to have the ball shooting at goal if your house was on it. Then he'd miss.

He made a similar comment when Long had a shot on the w/e so I fully expected him to miss.
