Blake Caracella (2nd coming)

Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

Blake Caracella (2nd coming)

Post by BenDoolan » Sat Aug 10, 2019 10:18 pm

As soon as he walks in the door, they should hand him Woosha’s keys and let him drive the bus.

Thanks for your caretaker role Wooshy, but time to hand the future of the club to a younger, ambitious bloke. Stick around and give him a good “handover”, and maybe provide him some support as he sees fit, but you cannot be in charge of this club any longer.

Hopefully Blake has a good idea on what constitutes a decent ‘strength & conditioning’ team, and pisses of this current crop of pathetic imposters.
Unfortunately, you can't drown a witch!

Many will scream it was the players who let the club down. I am not one of them. I agree with Ben 100%

List management, player development, fitness, injury management, coaching and game plan are the culprits

If you mean tonight's effort, it was 100% the players.

The players who have been coached and developed by Woosha....yep, they are culpable but the problem clearly runs deeper

I get that, but it was the same players that won 5 of the last 6 before tonight. (even though I still thought we played ordinary during that period too - but nothing like tonight)

in none of those games did we string together a single 4 qtr effort. We beat bog average teams other than perhaps GWS although they are Bog Average anywhere in Melbourne. The 10 point come from behind win against Gold Coast was effectively the equivalent of a 10 goal loss when it should have been a percentage booster and were it not for Walla's heroics we were extremely lucky to beat North. Adelaide were a shambles when we played them.

That 5 game winning streak while exhilarating, was fsr from convincing.

Agreed, mostly. Like I said, I thought we were pretty ordinary in most games. The only exception being that North were playing pretty well when we beat them. And aside from Walla, we were still playing good enough to beat them. We were 19?? points up at 3/4 time.

Bingo!
The irony is in the bit where people say our list is rubbish, but they still blame the coaching staff.

Only so many on each Club’s List you can clear off.

Coach’s are more expendable!

Not so - if you really wanted to, you could delist 9-10 a year...

You may only get 5 draft selections but you can trade in, upgrade rookies etc.

Nobody has had the guts to prune sharply for a few years now. Mainly because we "are in the window"... bullocks

Yeah,9 - 10 is a start.

If you really want a clean out though, getting rid of 20 or more, might be better!
